GENESIS G40: Assembly Help File - Pictorial

Assembly Pictorial The purpose of this pictorial is to assist you with assembly of your Genesis G40. For more details, component values and schematic diagrams, please refer to the Assembly Sheet (Manual). Build process is divided in 7 phases. Do not skip or jump to the next phase until build and testing are completed. For further help please email help@GenesisRadio.com.au or send your request to GenesisRadio Yahoogroup. Phase 1. - locate a component bag labeled Phase 1. The printed circuit board (PCB) should be oriented as per photo.

- find glass diode 1N4734 (5V6 Zener) and form leads as per photo.

- locate its position on PCB.

- note the polarization band on diode; take care to orient the diode correctly. Place it so that the black band on diode aligns with band marked on PCB.

- solder the leads from bottom side of PCB

- cut the leads as per photo. Use quality wire cutters, do not pull or twist. NOTE: during the assembly DO NOT cut leads of IC's, relays or connectors!

- following above described assembly steps solder 21 small glass signal diodes marked 1N4148.

- on the TOP RIGHT corner of PCB: solder LED diodes, two 2K2 resistors and two 100nF MLC capacitors as per photo.

- solder remaining components as per photo: voltage stabilizator 7805, two 47uH chokes, resistor and capacitors

- temporarily connect +12V to +14V power supply as per photo; the green LED should be on. This completes Phase 1 of G40 assembly.
