Assembly of band pass filters

Transceiver Interconnection


Install NPO capacitor C1B and resistor R1B.



Install inductor L22B.
Install resistors R2B, R3B, R4B.
Install NPO capacitors C9B, C17B, C18B, C19B, C56B, C55B, C57B.
Install integral circuits IC1B and IC2B.
Install 3 pin header SV5PB.





K4: cut 140mm of three wire flat ribbon cable and install crimp connectors SV3PA and SV3PB as per photo.





Control logic testing

1. Install cable K4.
2. Power up G59 board, connect USB cable and start GSDR software.
3. Select 160m band.
4. Measure voltage on pin 16 of IC2B. It should read +0.70 V.
5. Check voltage on pins 10 to 15. The voltage is +11.7 V.
6. Select 80m band. This time the voltage on pin 10 is +0.70 V and voltage on pins 11 to 16 is +11.7 V.
7. Repeat the measuring procedure for all other bands. Again, the voltage on the pin of IC2B which corresponds to selected band pass filter will be +0.70 V and +11.7 V on all other pins.


 

Assembly of individual band pass filters

Start with installation of 40m/60m band pass filter which is located next to relay RL3N, second relay from the top.
Note: It is very important to place components exactly as per photo. Due to the high density of installed components, some designators are difficult to read. Correct location is the one shown on photo.





Install inductors L7B, L8B and L9B [3 to 4mm above PCB] and NPO capacitors C20B to C26B.




Continue with installation of 20m/30m band pass filter which is located next to relay RL4N.




Install inductors L10B, L11B and L12B [3 to 4mm above PCB] and NPO capacitors C27B to C33B.




Continue with installation of 10m band pass filter which is located next to relay RL6N.




Install inductors L16B, L17B and L18B [3 to 4mm above PCB] and NPO capacitors C41B, C43B, C44B, C45B and C47B.




Continue with installation of 15m band pass filter which is located next to relay RL5N.




Install inductors L13B, L14B and L15B [3 to 4mm above PCB] and NPO capacitors C34B to C40B.




Continue with installation of 80m band pass filter which is located next to relay RL2N.




Install inductors L4B, L5B and L6B [3 to 4mm above PCB] and NPO capacitors C10B to C16B.




Continue with installation of 6m band pass filter which is located next to relay RL5N.




Install inductors L19B, L20B and L21B [3 to 4mm above PCB] and NPO capacitors C48B to C54B.




Continue with installation of 160m band pass filter which is located next to relay RL1N.




Install inductors L1B, L2B and L3B [3 to 4mm above PCB] and USM capacitors C2B and C7B (1nF). Install NPO capacitors C3B, C4B, C5B and C6B.




This completes the assembly of 160m to 6m band pass filters.



Note: Due to the shape and type of capacitors supplied in your kit, your band pass filters might look slightly different.
